The Dodge Viper was first unveiled as a show car on January 4th 1989 at the North American International Auto Show. Daimler Chrysler's main goal with the Viper was to enhance performance in a sports car, which included, amongst other things, enabling the vehicle to go from 0 to 100 and back to 0 in under 15 seconds! The unveiling of the Viper at the Detroit auto show turned out to be a huge success: orders began pouring in before the show had even ended!

The Dodge Viper Las Vegas exotic rental car comes in three different models. The RT/10 model was first produced in 1991 and came complete with an aluminum V10 engine. The first one to roll off of the assembly line was painted the signature Viper red, while a second color, black, was added in '93. By '94 yellow and emerald green Vipers were in production and a legacy was underway.

The RT/10 Viper was design with power and racing in mind. Chassis prototypes had been developed and re-developed for over 3 years in order to enhance the vehicles dynamics. In fact the Dodge Viper RT/10 was used as the official Indianapolis 500 pace car in May of 1991. The Dodge Viper GTS, (The second Viper Las Vegas exotic rental car option) was added to the family in 1996. This Viper wasn't just interested in sheer speed, instead it was designed with the intention of becoming one of the premier Grand Touring cars in the world.

The GTS catered to different buyers on the market, as opposed to the RT/10 which was devoted to the raw racer. Even though these Las Vegas exotic rental cars look alike, the GTS was over 90% redesigned; every piece of the older RT/10 was scrutinized and tweaked in order to enhance its appeal. The major change between the GTS and the RT/10 was the weight reduction. The GTS model weights over 300 pounds lighter than the RT/10 do to a re-engineered frame, weight reduced cooling system and a shift in the platform. All of these changes resulted in an even more responsive vehicle and helped boost the Viper into the public eye.

In 2003 the latest Viper became available to the public: the SRT/10. By this time the Viper had practically faded from the minds of many sports car enthusiasts, but Dodge wasn't ready to give up on their baby. The new SRT/10 had a totally new and fresh design that practically blew every other sports car away. With competition like the BMW Z8, Chevrolet Corvette and Porsche 911, Daimler Chrylser knew they had their hands full. The 8.3 liter V10 engine in the SRT/10 outputs over 500 horsepower at 5,600 RPM… an open lane of highway has never been so beautiful!

The stiff new chassis in the SRT/10 allowed the Viper sleeker lines and an even wider wheelbase, molding it into a pretty little package instead of the larger past models. All the instrumentation inside the Dodge Viper was also redesigned created a cozy and intimate cockpit. The new speedometer even had to add an extra notch… 220mph, because the Viper is just that fast!
