The McCarran International Airport is a member of the Clark Country Airport System. McCarran is one of the six airports owned and operated by Clark County, including five of the general aviation facilities in the Las Vegas area. History

McCarran International was originally opened in 1942 by George Crockett, and as crazy as it sounds, yes George was related to Davy Crockett! It was later purchased by its current owners, Clark County. Over 87,000 passengers utilize McCarran’s services daily. McCarran also house an Aviation History Museum that offers a main exhibit above baggage claim on the second level and an additional exhibit in the general and corporate terminal that is operated by Signature Flight Support. This feature is both fun and educational for the whole family… and admissions free! So why not waste a few hours learning about the history of aviation in Nevada?
