The Dolphin Habitat
The Dolphin Habitat is a 2.5 million gallon home for a family of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins. When you visit the habitat with your luxury car rental you will learn that it is there to help you learn about the species as well as to provide a healthy environment for these animals. Siegfried say that the reason behind the habitat is because “everything that happens to this planet is man’s responsibility. [It’s] our responsibility”.
“After living and working with some of the world’s most magnificent creatures, we have felt the threat of their loss. So we felt compelled to create a safe environment – an environment in which these animals could live in serenity,” says Roy. And they have created serenity. There are four connected pools, an artificial reef, and a sandy bottom to replicate the ocean. Most of the dolphins that live here were born in the habitat, some of the others were relocated from other dolphin habitats.
When you come to the habitat with your luxury car rental, you can take a guided tour. You can see the dolphins in their natural environment and see their normal behavior. For the adventurous, you can become a dolphin trainer for the day. Working with official dolphin trainers, you will participate in the daily activities that dolphin trainers do. You get to feed the dolphins, learn to train them, eat with them, and get a hand-on study of them. You will also receive a free trainer’s shirt with this program.
During the day, the famous white tigers are rotated into the Secret Garden. The white tigers are a rare species, and unlike conventional tigers the white tiger is white with black stripes, pink paws, and ice-blue eyes. The purest in the species are completely, snow white and have no stripes. There was some controversy over the white tigers when Roy was attacked by one of the tigers, but they are still available to view when you are at the Mirage with your luxury car rental.
The hours for the Dolphin Habitat in the summer are from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. In the winter it was open from 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. during the week, and open an hour earlier on the weekends. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Children under 3 are free when accompanied by an adult.
The Mirage
The Mirage is one of the best-known hotels in Las Vegas, and it has many other exhibits and activities to offer you while you are here with your luxury car rental. The volcano at the Mirages has been one of the signature attractions since it opened in 1989. Every hour from 7:00 p.m. until midnight. As long as the winds aren’t too strong and the weather is good, you will see smoke and fire shoot 100 feet above the water, where the tranquil waterfall turns into a stream of molten lava.
