The Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Las Vegas Motor Speedway features four different racing venues all in one large complex. There is something for all racing enthusiasts looking to take advantage of their Las Vegas car rentals to catch some high speed racing action.

On most weekends all of the facilities on the 1600 acre Las Vegas Valley complex will be hosting racing events. RV campgrounds open on the Wednesday before all race weekends. With seven different campgrounds to chose from, you can be sure that you will be close to the action all weekend long.

Tri-Oval Super Speedway

1.5 miles long with 12 degree banking in all four corners, the super speedway has witnessed Nextel Cup qualifying laps at over 174 miles per hour.

Built in 1995, Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s tri-oval saw it’s first NASCAR event the following year as the Busch series came to town. In 1998 NASCAR’s Cup Series debuted its yearly event.

NASCAR’s Truck Series also makes an annual visit to Las Vegas to let their drivers loose on the super speedway.

There is grandstand seating for 130,000 spectators at the super speedway. Two terraces named after racing greats Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt top the grandstands at the entrance to turn 1 and the exit of turn 4.

Book your tickets and Las Vegas car rentals early as the best seats for the most popular events don’t last long.

Bullring Short Track

A 3/8 mile oval set in the shadow of the super speedway plays host to a full calendar of events from March to November. The Bullring is the place to go to see fast racing competed in tight conditions.

Weekly series run on the short track include Super Late Models, Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Thunder Roadsters, Bandoleros and the Bullring Bomber series.

Visitors to Nevada can take their Las Vegas car rentals up to the Bullring to see the local talent battle it out on a world-class race track.

Drag Strip

Every dragster imaginable has it’s day at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s Drag Strip. From NHRA Super Pros to the BF Goodrich Midnight Mayhem which allows anyone with a license and insurance to take their street-legal car or motorcycle down the strip – Dream Car Rentals not included.

Special events and a high school series also fill in spots on the drag strip’s schedule. This eclectic mix of professional and amateur racers in everything from street-legal imports to motorcycles offers something for every drag racing fan.

Dirt Oval

The World of Outlaws bring their show to the half-mile clay oval twice a year. The IMCA Modified Series also comes to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for their annual Duel in the Desert race.

Watching the Sprint cars and full-bodied Modifieds tear up the track sideways through the corners is exhilarating racing to watch. Fearless and hungry for victory, these drivers throw their cars into each turn going wheel-to-wheel and sometimes roof-to-roof in their bid for the checkered flag.

Racing Schools

Richard Petty’s Driving Experience offers different packages based on how far and how fast you want to go on the race track. From riding along in a two-seater NASCAR as a professional driver tops 150 mph during a qualifying simulation to racing a full 40 laps on a super speedway, you will be sure to get your adrenaline fix with the King’s roster of experiences. Drifting up to the wall as you exit each corner in the racing rendition of your Las Vegas car rentals is a rush that you will not soon forget.

Mario Andretti’s racing school puts you behind the wheel of custom built open-wheeled indy-type racers. Prove yourself in the World Champion program and you may see yourself pushing 180 mph sitting just a few inches off the track surface.

Motorcycle racing legend Freddie Spencer holds his High Performance Riding School at the Los Vegas Motor Speedway. Let Fast Freddie and his team of professional instructors teach you how to get the most out of a Honda CBR 600 on a closed track. Easily the most fun you can legally have on two wheels.
